V-EB01/017 RR Machining Hornet (マシニング・ホーネット) Zoo/Insect/Megacolony Trigger/1/Boost/8000/10000/1 AUTO [V/R]: When an attack hits a vanguard and it attacked or boosted, look at six cards from the top of your deck, put up to grade 3 card into your hand by revealing it, and shuffle your deck. If you put into your hand, and this unit is on [R], put this unit into your soul.
Today's reveal is a RR grde 1 for Megacolony, which now. Along with the Machining Mantis, the Maxhinikg Playstyle seems to have a running theme of adding grade 3s to hand from the deck. Coupled with Phantom Black's skill to that discards cards from hand for a guard restrict, it seems that the grade 3 boss units may involve extra copies of grade 3s, be it discarding them or sending them to soul. Even if the speculations are wrong and the clan absolutely no use for the extra grade 3s, both unit's skills still provide a way to reduce the chance of missing a grade 3 ride and a specific ride piece. Not to mention that as a protect clan, the imaginary gift payout is one of the strongest with it being a net +1 on the spot, allowing you to use that card of defence through its sentinel ability or offence by discarding it to use another skill. Of course it still remains to be seen what kind to playstyle the main theme will revolve around as we've alr already seen guard restrict, unit placement manipulation, deck searching and of course, it's iconic stunning ability, while the Machining Subtype will likely have it's own unique skill such as calling from soul. It's just another 2 short weeks till the set comes out and we'll see what new cards are revealed until then!
The Destructive Roar drops on 29 June 2018, bringing Spike Brothers, Tachikaze and Megacolony into the fold. Personally I'm really looking forward to Megacolony because I really like the athsthetic. Let me know which of the 3 clans is your favourite and which clan release (not limited to these 3) you're most looking forward to and why!
