Platoon Leader Butterfly Officer G1 / POWER: 6000 / GUARD: 10000

[Auto] (R): When placed, [Cost] {Rest this unit}, select 1 of your other RG, it gets POWER +10000. If you chose a unit, at the end of the turn, send it into the soul and [Countercharge 1] Today we're taking a look at another utility card for Meagacolony, a grade 1 6000 power base that upon call, can be rested to give another rearguard 10000. Then when the turn is over, the unit is sent to soul and you can countercharge 1. This is the second countercharge unit we've seen for Megacolony, the first being Bloody Hercules, a retrained vanilla from the original series. It seems like Megacolony will have no trouble with constant counterblast costs, with one on hit countercharge for pressure and an Auto on call skill. However, there has only been one skill revealed so far with a counter blast COST and it's on a booster which gives the attacking column a Silent Tom-esque Normal Unit Guard restrict. As of now, there seems to be no counterblast heavy skill that warrants running more than 1 countercharger, and specifically this one. Epecially since this Butterfly Officer has a distinct -1 after activating it's skill for a stronger attack this turn, coupled with the lack of an ability to boost the turn it's called. Chances are, the card will be run of a 1 or 2 of if counter charging becomes important. However, it's important to note that if Megacolony gets a boss unit which requires soulblasting of grade 3s, this unit can be used to speed up the process exponentially, being able to call her on turn 3 and send another grade 3 to soul immediately. We will have to see what the new Machining Spark Hercules and Machining Stag Beetle's skills are, the former being the VR and the latter likely to be the secondary RRR or RR boss unit. Hopefully their skills will hearken back to the old days of Vanguard and the stunning - that is, preventing your opponents units from standing the next turn, effects that acted as a cheaper pseudo retire. It will be interesting for the OG players to see how some of the G era clan identity bleeds back into the new V series as well, myself included.

I will be making at least one Megacolony deck for the set and will try to make a budget deck version for the players who don't want to drop a bomb just to get a playable deck. The Destructive Roar drops on 29 June 2018, bringing Spike Brothers, Tachikaze and Megacolony into the fold. Personally I'm really looking forward to Megacolony because I really like the athsthetic. Let me know which of the 3 clans is your favourite and which clan release (not limited to these 3) you're most looking forward to and why! Have fun, and remember, its OK to play Casual!
